Undergraduate students at University of the Pacific can study, work and live in San Francisco this summer.
College of the Pacific is pleased to announce the launch of the San Francisco Summer Experience, which will take place during the first Summer Session of 2015. This innovative program gives students the opportunity to earn up to seven units of undergraduate credits at Pacific’s state-of-the-art campus in the SoMa district of San Francisco. In addition to two courses, plans are under way to offer internships in the fields of arts and technology.
Through this program, students from a variety of majors can position themselves for careers in the arts, biotech, business, communications, computer science, publishing, and urban planning.
Two courses will be available through this new program. “Arts and the City” (GE IIC) will be taught by Dr. Macelle Mahala, associate professor of Theatre Arts and recipient of the 2014 Stephen E. Corson Award for Distinguished Teaching of Freshmen. “Technology and the Bay Area” (GE IIIC) will be facilitated by Dr. Kirkwood Land, associate professor of Biological Sciences and a renowned researcher in the field of anti-protozoal drug discovery and development.
