Through a partnership between the San Joaquin International Film Festival (SJIFF) and Pacific’s Film Studies Program and Department of Theatre Arts, acclaimed actor Jan Dieter Schneider will hold a Film Workshop with Pacific film and acting students from 1-2pm on Tuesday September 8th in the Long Theatre. All Pacific students are welcome to attend. Schneider will discuss his award-winning 2013 film, Home from Home: Chronicle of a Vision, directed by Edgar Reitz. Schneider was praised in The Guardian for his “breathless, engagingly candid performance,” and hailed as a “a true find” by the Hollywood Reporter.
Home from Home: Chronicle of a Vision will be screened at 3pm on Sunday September 6, at the Janet Leigh Theatre, as part of the SJIFF’s AutumnFest film program, directed by Sophoan Sorn. The screening is open to the public. More information about the film and tickets can be found on the SJIFF website. This special screening will not only be the U.S. West Coast Premiere of the celebrated German epic, but will also take place a few days prior to the film’s U.S. Theatrical Premiere in New York City.
For this screening, a limited number of complimentary tickets will be available to Pacific students. For more information, email Dr. John Lessard, director of the Film Studies Program at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This event co-sponsored by the English Department, the Department of Modern Languages and Literature, the Humanities Center, and the Humanities Scholars Program.
